For 20 years, the 48 Hour Film Project has promoted filmmaking on six continents as an adrenaline-filled team sport. With a mission to spotlight filmmakers, and promote creativity and teamwork, this is the world’s largest and oldest timed filmmaking competition.

The Theater is honored to host the screenings of the 40 local teams of professionals and amateurs who embraced this challenge through the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project

The premieres offer the opportunity to watch and support the work and dreams of local filmmakers next Monday and Tuesday, July 27 and 28, at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. each day, with four different blocks encompassing all entries. The Best of Screening and Awards Ceremony will be a Red Carpet event at the Theater, on Monday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m.

If you are supporting a specific filmmaker or title, detailed schedules are shared on the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project website.

These screenings give Pittsburghers, known worldwide for their team spirit, another way to cheer on the home team in a competition that reaches from Bratislava to Boston. Visit our website for tickets!
