Recognized as a creative and dynamic nonprofit leader, Carolina concentrates on solutions that keep organizations focused on their administrative goals and purpose. She is known for her perceptive and innovative leadership, particularly in nonprofit, development, academic and startup environments. Carolina has secured and managed millions of dollars from private and public sources, and her collaborative abilities have built consensus across the highest levels of government and corporate worlds as well as among internal audiences.

Carolina’s career is based upon hands-on experiences and an academic background that includes both MBA and Master of Arts in Corporate Communication degrees from Duquesne University and undergraduate degrees in English and secondary education from Harding University in Arkansas.

Before being tapped by The Tull Family Theater board to launch the theater, Carolina had established a private consulting practice. A founding board member of StartUptown, Pittsburgh’s urban campus of technology and social innovation, she currently shares her talents with the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Allies. She has regularly volunteered to address career development at Pittsburgh Promise events.

As a native of a developing country, Carolina is passionate about advocating for vulnerable populations—a consistent thread in her personal and professional endeavors. Her cinematic tastes range from the Italian Cinema Paradiso to Tim Burton’s Big Fish. One of her favorite books turned into a movie is Life of Pi.
