Crew Member Job Description

The Tull Family Theater, a nonprofit, arthouse cinema in Sewickley, PA, is searching for enthusiastic, high-energy part-time Crew Members.

Flexible Hours: 6-30 hours/week including days, nights, weekends and holidays

Compensation: $8.50/hr plus perks

Job roles and duties: Crew Members are the face of the theater and an indispensable part of a team that provides the best possible experiences for our guests. Crew Members are the reason our guests keep coming back! They perform all of the following roles:

  • Cashier—work the register, handle cash, credit and debit transactions
  • Concessionist—serve food and beverages to customers
  • Usher—serve as the gatekeeper and direct guests to the correct theater
  • Ticketing agent—sell tickets, know the current film plots and show times
  • Projectionist understudy—ensure proper sound and projection throughout showing of films
  • Cleaner—maintain cleanliness of concession equipment, counters, lobby, restrooms and theater

Job Requirements: 

Crew Members must be at least 16 to join us, have a passion for cinema and always be friendly and welcoming to guests. This position regularly involves weekend, night and holiday coverage. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard, office equipment, theater projector system, POS, concessions and commercial kitchen equipment. Subject to standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, sitting, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform essential functions. Working conditions are primarily in a public indoor environment but will require occasional exterior tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be exposed to hot mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration; varying noise levels.

Experience in a restaurant, retail or another customer-service, hospitality job a plus.
