Paulo Nzambi

Serving on The Tull Family Theater board is a natural fit for Paulo Nzambi, an experienced nonprofit leader and performing artist.

As CEO and head of school for Imani Christian Academy, Paulo’s daily work influences the lives of underserved children across the region. Previously executive vice president and chief operating officer for the National Center for Arts & Technology in Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood, Paulo worked with civic leaders to open and sustain centers that provide visual arts programs for youth and career training for adults both in the U.S and internationally.  Previously responsible for the day-to-day operations of Manchester Bidwell Corp. and its affiliates—Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild Youth & Arts, MCG Jazz and the Bidwell Training Center—as executive vice president and chief operating officer, Paulo joined the nonprofit in 2009 as vice president of administration.

Paulo is immersed in the arts and education both professionally and as a practitioner. A playwright and published poet, this native of Angola also has stepped onto stage as an actor.

With an academic background including a political science undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a law degree from Duquesne University, Paulo is also a real estate entrepreneur and a triathlete. He lives in Ross Township with his wife, Dr. Akuvi Kloutse, and their two small children.
