Sensory Friendly Lion King to Screen at The Tull Family Theater

Sensory friendly screenings continue at The Tull Family Theater in Sewickley with Disney’s new realistic animation of The Lion King (PG).

The adventures of young Simba and Nala, the antics of Timon and Pumbaa are revealed in a story tinged with both betrayals and loyalty.

The Saturday, July 27, sensory friendly screening will move directly into The Lion King feature at 10 a.m. sharp, with no previews. As with other sensory friendly screenings in the Theater’s ongoing series, dim house lights will remain on, volume will be lowered and screening room doors will stay open. Staffing will be increased to ensure this is a personalized experience for those impacted by autism and special needs. This will be the only activity in the Theater for the two-hour screening. Because this film looks very real, parents are cautioned to watch the trailer and make the judgment call about their children’s emotional, as well as physical, sensitivities.

To sum up from a 5-year-old weekend patron, “I loved it! I love ALL of it!”

These sensory-friendly screenings are possible through the support of the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust, the Thomas Marshall Foundation, the Sewickley Valley Community Fund and Lincoln Learning Solutions.
