Toni Morrison: The Topic at The Tull Family Theater

WHAT: Since the death of literary giant Toni Morrison earlier this month, interest has swelled in the novelist’s work.  The documentary Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am  (PG-13) returns to The Tull Family Theater, Friday, Aug. 23-Thursday, Aug. 29.

A highlight of the return engagement will be a special event on Tuesday, Aug. 27, featuring Dr. Kathy Glass, an expert in African American literature and an English literature professor at Duquesne University. She has published on the topics of race, gender, spirituality and nation.

WHEN:    Tuesday, Aug. 27, 7:15 p.m., Dr. Glass will speak;  7:30 -9:30 p.m., screening

WHERE:  The Tull Family Theater, 418 Walnut St., Sewickley

TICKETS: $11 general admission, $8.75 for seniors 65+, college students and military with ID, and children

The Tull Family Theater, a 501(c) (3) Pennsylvania nonprofit, is a film-based arts organization created to strengthen cultural, educational and entertainment experiences in the region northwest of Pittsburgh. Supported by diverse private, public, corporate and foundation revenue streams, the Theater counts among its donors Allegheny Regional Asset District, Huntington Bank, and more than 1,000 individuals and its patrons. Their support sustains and expands programming at this independent cinema in Sewickley offering two screens and an event/performance space.
